I’m Sharee Silerio, a Black, Beloved (the meaning of my name) and Beautiful woman. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, wife of five years, cousin, niece, and friend. I believe that the purpose of life is love, and that every human being was created by God to accept, give and become love and light to the world.
I’m a student of life who loves art and storytelling. I experience the world as an INFJ (in other words I’m creative, intuitive, complex, and rare), and write about culture, social justice, race and politics for The Root. I also write and produce films and television shows. You can read and watch most of my work here.
In 2016, I launched a t-shirt, tote bag and mug line called “BeLoved Apparel”, focused on empowering women and girls through apparel that declares that we are “Black, Beloved and Beautiful”. You can check it out via the SHOP link above.
My life’s mission and legacy is to encourage love of God, self-love, and love of others. My vision is to inspire and help black and brown women and teens build an intimate relationship with God to achieve unconditional self-love, so they can be empowered to love others.
Sincerely Sharee is a blog that shares my journey to building unconditional and unapologetic love for all of who I am – my imperfections, contradictions, weaknesses, strengths, mistakes, and triumphs. It is my process to becoming the most sincere, pure form of myself. I will do my best to be transparent and vulnerable, revealing the lessons I’ve learned and hopes for my pain
Overall, my goal is to reveal, dissect and confront life’s many layers from the perspective of a Black, Christian woman. From real-life struggles, relationship tips, and uplifting quotes to letters to my younger self, thoughts on faith and religion, critiques of the media and society, and opinions about race, culture, colorism, and films, you can expect Sincerely Sharee to cover a wide range of topics!
By sharing my mind, baring my soul and pouring out my heart, I hope you are uplifted, inspired, encouraged and empowered to become the best version of yourself, to become exactly who and what you were created to be – love!
My favorite message for life is this:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31
Here’s to becoming your favorite and number one life, faith, love and culture blog!
